Power to Do

James 1:22

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

· The word of God tells us to not just hear the word but to also be a doer of the word.

Mark 4:14-24

14 The sower soweth the word.

15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

21 And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?

22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.

23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given

· Be doers of the word not just hearers. We must hear the word, read the word, and apply it to our lives daily.

How do I become a doer and not just a hearer?

· The Holy Ghost will remind you of what you have heard and give you power to walk in the will of God.

· Is the word meaningful to you? The more you value and believe the word the more you receive. Believing and receiving the word makes all the difference.

· Remember how you first received the word from the Lord. Rejoice with gladness over His word. Believe God’s word with joy.

· Don’t let the enemy choke the word. Hide the word in your heart, keep the word in your heart.

· Don’t get caught up in the cares of life.

· Pull out the sword during the test! Fight with the word.

· Put on the full armor of God that you may be able to stand against the devil.

· Remember the word during persecution and affliction.

Psalm 119:71 King James Version

71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

· Hear the word with great meaning

· Treasure the word

· Receive all that God has for you.

· Live your life according to the word of God. With the power of the Holy Ghost, we are able to live a life of holiness and please God.

· Keeping the word in your heart will help you to overcome temptation

The Power of the Holy Ghost

· The Holy Ghost gives us power to be a doer of the word.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

The Gift of the Holy Ghost

· Power to witness, power to live holy, power to be a doer of the word.

Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost

Acts 2:4

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

· You can be filled with the Holy Ghost. He will keep you from falling, he will keep you from sinning, and keep you on the straight and narrow path of righteousness. It is not by our own power that we live a life of holiness but by God's power.

· We receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon us. We have the power to witness, live for God, and remain in His will.

The Baptism of the Holy Ghost

Acts 2:1-4

1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

· Speaking in tongues is the initial evidence of being filled with the Holy Ghost.

Acts 4:20

· When we receive the gift of the Holy Ghost He helps us to live a life that’s pleasing to God. We are transformed. New creatures. No longer sinners but Saints of God.

John 14:26 King James Version

26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

· The Holy Ghost comforts us and we can pray in the Spirit and ask Him to intercede.

Romans 8:26-27 KJV

26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

· The Holy Ghost will help you be a doer of the word. God’s Spirit gives us freedom from worldly desires and bondage of sin.

Spiritual Gifts

· Ye shall receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon you.

· God also gives us spiritual gifts. Through the power of Holy Ghost, we can receive spiritual gifts and pray for the gifts God has prepared for us.

· Pray that you may be able to interpret

1 Corinthians 14:13

Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

· Pray that you may prophecy

1 Corinthians 14:1

Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. The Keeping Power of the Holy Ghost

· Ask the Holy Ghost to take over. Ask Him to fill you from the top of your head to the souls of your feet.

· The Holy Ghost will convict you of a sinful lifestyle and give you the power to stop sinning and submit yourself to God. God will keep you from falling.

Jude 1:24-25 King James Version (KJV)

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever

1 Timothy 4:14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery Someone is having a hard time being a doer of the word. The Holy Ghost will give you power to be a doer and not just a hearer.

Matthew 7:7-8

King James Version

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

You can receive the gift of the Holy Ghost if you ask and believe. Keep seeking the Lord and He will give you all that He has for you.

Climb higher in the Lord and receive all the He has to offer. Our love for God will continue to grow and we will continue to experience the higher heights and deeper depths of His love (Ephesians 3:18). Just believe and seek God with a pure heart.

If your heart needs to be cleansed, ask God to create in me a clean heart, renew a right spirit within me and He will do it. (Psalm 51:10-12)

Come boldly to the throne of Grace. God's grace is sufficient. He has more in store for you. Continue to seek His face. Turn from your wicked ways then He will hear from heaven and heal the land (2 Chronicles 7:14). Maybe you need healing. Turn from sin and turn to God. You can’t be a saint and sinner, but a sinner can become a saint through the power of God. Allow God to change you and purify you from the top of your head to the souls of your feet. He will make you a new creation in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17).

1 Corinthians 10:13 King James Version (KJV)

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Jesus is the way out. He is the way of escape. Trust Him today, let Him live in you today.

Allow God to purify you, allow God to purify your mind. He’ll give you a new heart. He will wash you. He’ll even give you your heavenly language. He’ll do exceedingly, abundantly above all that you can ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20-21). The initial evidence of the Holy Ghost is speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. If you haven’t done that, you haven’t experienced being filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost yet, but you can have this gift today. God is able. He will fill you with precious Holy Ghost power and you’ll begin to live right, talk right, love your neighbor, and you’ll experience God in an even greater way. Get all that God has for you! Give Him your life today.

2 Corinthians 6:2

New Living Translation

2 For God says,

“At just the right time, I heard you.

On the day of salvation, I helped you.”

Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.

Jesus died on the cross for your sins so you could be forgiven and have eternal life (John 3:16). He died so that we could have life more abundantly (John 10:10). Living in sin is not an abundant life. Jesus said if you love me keep my commandments (John 14:15). If you allow Him in your heart and allow the Holy Ghost to take over, He’ll give you the power to live a holy life pleasing to God. He’ll break the shackles and chains off your life. He’ll give you a life more abundantly. When you go through trials and storms, He’ll be with you and bring you through. Greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Isaiah 54:17 KJV

17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

There is greater for you. God wants to do greater things for you if you just trust Him, believe Him and allow Him to do the work in you, you’ll see. You’ll see the fruit of hiding the word in your heart. You’ll see the miracles and blessings the Lord has in store for you. You’ll experience an even greater life than the one you are living. God is able. You just have to believe, trust, and receive. Give God your all and ask Him to take over your life.

Prayer

Lord, I’m sorry for everything I’ve done that was not like you. I believe your word is true. I believe you can give me a new life and help me to Iive a holy life pleasing to you. Jesus, I accept you as Lord and Savior. Save me. Baptism me with the Holy Ghost. Give me new tongues. Set me free. I’ll live for you for the rest of my life. In the name of Jesus, Holy Ghost take over. Change me from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. Make me a new creature in Christ Jesus I give you the glory all the honor and all the praise in Jesus name amen.
