Counting your Blessings

Think of the many way God has blessed you. From a coupon for something you needed, to someone giving you a heartfelt card for your birthday, there are many blessings God has given His people especially in the midst of a trial. Try to think of the blessings related to the trial you are currently going through. For example, if you are currently in a financial trial think about the different ways God has blessed you financially and write them down.

Here’s an example, after my entire office was removed and I was out of work for over a year, God reminded me how He provides when I spun the wheel at a hotel as I prayed and just thought “I want free breakfast”, I won free breakfast. “Your heavenly father feedeth them” was God’s response. So why do you worry? I think about how God put the wheel there, sent someone to honor the fact that I won, and provided the food. All I had to do was have enough faith to spin the wheel. He made sure I saw it off to the side of the front desk. What is around you that God wants you to see? Pray, Lord open my eyes to your blessings. Show me what you want me to see.

Do you see the many ways God has provided in your life? Write them down. During your waiting season, write down the things God has taught you, write down the blessings He has given you. You won’t be able to count them all because He is just that good!

After you have written them down, remember that God is adding to the many blessings He’s already given you. Stay hopeful, prayerful, faithful and believing.
